What is Stripe?

Stripe is one of the world's leading (and in our opinion, the best) payment processor. Paythen is built on top of Stripe so you get all the power of Stripe with added flexibility and functionality provided by Paythen.

How can I connect my Stripe account to Paythen?

Step 1: Create your free Paythen account here.

Step 2: Once you sign up, we'll ask you to connect your Stripe account (or create a new one in seconds)

If you'd prefer, you can instead create a demo account and link to your Stripe in test mode. This does require any data to be recreated in your live account later.

Step 3: If you have an existing Stripe account you can log in, or if you don't have one yet, you can create one in under a minute. Stripe will ask for basic information about you and your business and in some cases might require a photo of your ID.

Step 4: Once you are logged in to Stripe, you will see the permission screen for Paythen to connect to your Stripe account. Click on the "Connect my Stripe account" button. We need this to be able to create plans and customers linked to your Stripe account.

You can revoke access any time if you choose not to use Paythen – with one click from within Stripe or Paythen.

Note: You must be an admin or owner on the Stripe account to be able to complete this step. If you can't see the Stripe account in the list, it's likely because you are not the account admin or owner.

That's it! You're now ready to use Paythen. We'll ask you to choose a custom link for your account. This is what customers can access publicly to change their card info, see receipts and more. (you should add this into your help docs or website footer).

We'll then take you to our plan type selection page where you can create your first plan and start collecting payments in 30 seconds! πŸ™Œ

If it suits your business model, we recommend starting with the Pay your way plan (see example) as that gives your customers the most flexibility and leads to more sales! πŸŽ‰
