Paythen's Zapier app lets you trigger payment plan links sent via email based on changes in almost any app or send customer data, progress and more from Paythen into your CRM, Google Sheets, Slack, and most other tools you'll use in your business. We've highlighted some popular integrations here.
We also have some direct integrations like WooCommerce which uses our native plugin and Cardivo eGift cards which has a two-way integration with Paythen.
Here are the broad steps to use Paythen & Zapier
Create or log in to your Zapier account
Create a new Zap and choose Paythen from the list of trigger apps OR choose your other trigger app and choose one of the Paythen actions in the action step later
Paythen has many triggers and actions You can see them all here. Each trigger and action has detailed data, including all relevant customer, plan and payment information. This includes custom fields, progress, discounts and more so you can create granular workflows.
For some Paythen triggers, you can choose whether you want the zap to work for all plans or only for specific plans. If you choose a specific plan, you will also see the option to map any plan-specific custom fields in the next step
When using Paythen as a trigger, choose an action app to send your data to, and configure that as you would any other Zap. Or if you're using Paythen in the action step, you can choose one of the actions and follow the on-screen instructions.
Go live and test! 🎉
See the step-by-step instructions for our Shopify flow here and our Eventbrite flow here.
📝 For most triggers, there is a deliberate 3-5 minute delay between data being created in your Paythen account and the data being sent to Zapier – this ensures no incomplete or invalid customer records are sent through to Zapier before being fully up to date in Paythen.
Zapier triggers
Customer created
When a customer is created in your Paythen account, send customer data including standard fields like the name, email, plan data like the plan name, expected vs. collected amounts, the customer summary link, and even custom field data. If the same customer signs up to multiple plans, each sign up is treated like a new customer. Also includes custom metadata which has a unique identifier for the customer as well as the plan.
Successful payment
Triggers each time there is a successful payment in your Paythen account. Includes standard fields like the customer's name and email, and plan data like the plan name, expected vs. collected amounts, the customer summary link, and even custom field data. Also includes custom metadata which has a unique identifier for the customer as well as the plan. Works for all plan types and all payments including upfront payments or scheduled payments.
Failed payment attempt
Triggers each time a scheduled payment fails (not failed attempts when a customer is trying to sign up). Applicable to payment plans and subscriptions.
Plan completed
Triggers each time a customer completes a Paythen payment plan. Includes standard fields like the customer's name and email, and plan data like the plan name, expected vs. collected amounts, the customer summary link, the completion date, and even custom field data. Also includes custom metadata which has a unique identifier for the customer as well as the plan. Works for the "payment plan" plan type
Plan cancelled
Triggers when a customer’s plan is cancelled. Applicable to payment plans and subscriptions.
