Paythen has a test mode that everyone starts in when you first sign up. This lets you test most of Paythen's core functionality without needing to connect your Stripe account or use real cards for testing.
You can create plans, templates and discounts in test mode, refine them as needed and once you connect your account to Stripe, you can also easily move them across to live mode so you don't need to re-enter any values you've already set.
Copying plans, discounts and templates works both ways â you can bring existing ones you have on live to test mode to easily test changes, new intervals, and more.
At the moment the sync is not a persistent ongoing sync â it's a copy. This means you can copy plans, templates and discounts between modes but each copy is a new separate object and completely separate from there. So if you make a change to an existing plan in one mode, it won't reflect automatically in the other mode, you either need to make the same change manually, or create a new copy.
Test mode is always available as a toggle to all users on your account to make it easy to set up and test new plans, new types of plans and understand exactly what customers will see.
You can always wipe all test data and start again via settings > account info and you can also seed the test data set of customers, plan, templates and discounts as many times as you want â this creates a set of test data with customers in various statuses and across various plan types.
At the moment, test mode doest not work with Zapier, nor does it create any data in your Stripe account. You can use test mode template links when setting up our WooCommerce plugin to test the full flow though.
Test mode also does not support early access features like Offers and Rewardful at the moment.
If you need to set up a detailed test workflow involving Zapier and/or Stripe data, you can do this using a separate demo account which requires you to connect your Stripe account as a sandbox and does work with Zapier and creates Stripe objects, metadata and more.
